//Notes
The well-known Renault 1.5 diesel engine, used by Mercedes for several years now, has evolved considerably compared with its early generations. In this newer version it produces 115 hp and 250 Nm from the factory, compared with the older 75, 90 and 109 hp versions. It also has very strict emissions requirements, using an AdBlue/SCR system to reduce NOx and meet Euro 6 standards. This A180d was measured on the dyno completely stock, producing 115 hp and 250 Nm. Our goal in the calibration is not simply to raise peak power and torque, but correct, controlled delivery across the whole operating range. We have often seen cars tuned elsewhere come back with problems such as excessive exhaust gas temperatures, abrupt changes in delivery and an uneven torque curve. That is why we pay particular attention to thermal management, monitoring operating parameters and the smoothness of the curves. Final result: 140 hp and 320 Nm, with linear, controlled delivery designed for correct, safe and everyday-usable engine operation.
