//Notes
A typical example of how important it is for proper diagnosis to come before any tuning. The customer came to us with a first-generation Audi Q5 with the well-known 2.0 TFSI CDNC engine rated at 211 hp, complaining about its performance. He felt the car wasn't performing as it should and wanted more power and torque. The initial dyno run showed just 170 PS and 220 Nm, far below factory specifications, confirming a mechanical problem. In cooperation with the Johnic Motorsport workshop in Ymittos, a fault was found in the turbo boost-control solenoid valve, which was repaired. After the repair, the stock measurement showed 206 PS and 360 Nm, exactly what a healthy 2.0 TFSI should make. We then carried out a Stage 1 remap for 95-octane fuel, with a final result of 249 PS and 450 Nm, a gain of +43 PS and +90 Nm, with much better acceleration, flexibility and response. From a Q5 that struggled to reach its factory figures, we ended up with an SUV making 249 hp and 450 Nm. Proper diagnosis is always the first step of every successful upgrade.
