//Notes
What is the difference between a MINI One R56 1.6 with 75 factory horsepower and a Cooper with 122 hp (always referring to the facelifted R56 LCI)? The answer will surprise many. Mechanically the two cars are essentially the same: the same engine, the same main mechanical parts and the same reliability. The key difference lies in the calibration, with MINI electronically limiting the One's output. This means a MINI One 75PS has huge room for improvement without any mechanical modification. With a carefully developed Stage 1 remap we can match and exceed the Cooper's output. The car featured here was measured exactly as it arrived at 74 hp and 133 Nm. With a mild, safe remap the final result was 124 hp and 160 Nm, a gain of +50 hp and +27 Nm. The MINI is now much livelier, with noticeably better acceleration, more flexibility and a driving feel reminiscent of a Cooper rather than a One.
