//Notes
In recent months we have seen more and more cars arriving already tuned, but with serious running problems. This BMW had been remapped by a so-called 'tuner' in the parking area of the customer's home. At first everything seemed normal, but as soon as the car went on a trip the problems started: constant power cuts and repeated safe mode. The customer was never able to track down the person who did the remap. He came to us, having seen similar work we had done on the same cars. The first dyno run confirmed what he felt on the road: just 115 hp, with a very problematic power curve. We carried out a full check, restored the ECU to factory settings and built a proper, safe calibration from scratch. The final result was 148 hp and 335 Nm, exactly where this three-cylinder 1,500 cc diesel engine should be, with smooth running, linear delivery and reliability in all conditions. Tuning is not simply flashing a file to the ECU. It takes knowledge, experience, measurements, proper equipment and after-sales support. Before choosing who will work on your car, make sure they will still be there the next day.
