The last generation of Mercedes' M271 engine, in turbocharged form. A reminder for those who may not know: the first M271s were supercharged, with smooth, linear delivery all the way up that felt like a big-displacement engine.
The turbo now gives the engine much more headroom in torque and power, and of course a bigger smile.
It measured 171ps with 280Nm of torque (yes, they produce more than claimed), and 216ps with 378Nm with Stage 1.
