//Notes
We are constantly asked what options exist for the Mercedes 1.8 Kompressor engines, either with a supercharger pulley change or with software only, keeping the factory pulley. On this car, with just 38,000 genuine kilometres, the owner wanted exactly that: more power and better response without changing the supercharger pulley.
On our dyno the stock car made 163 PS and 235 Nm. With the Microchips Tuning remap it reached 183 PS and 253 Nm, a gain of +20 hp and +18 Nm, for a car that is more willing and enjoyable in everyday driving.
Many people change not only the Kompressor pulley but also the crankshaft pulley, chasing even more boost. That combination can spin the supercharger excessively, increasing stress and the risk of mechanical failure. For those who choose a pulley upgrade, we prefer a properly engineered change of the Kompressor pulley alone, usually to 62 mm depending on the version, with no changes to the crank pulley.
We are not simply chasing a number on the dyno. Our goal is correct operation, reliability and engine longevity.
